VOLUNTEERING WITH CHILDREN
Join United Volunteer in Sri Lanka and help build a solid educational foundation for young children. As a volunteer, you’ll work on areas of need identified in local communities—especially in early childhood development. This is an incredible opportunity to gain practical childcare experience while developing your planning and teamwork skills.
Many of the kindergartens, daycares, and community centers we support are overcrowded and lack essential resources. You’ll play a vital role in assisting local staff, leading educational activities, and nurturing the children’s growth. You’ll teach skills that will help them succeed when they move on to primary school, and you’ll also have opportunities to work with special needs children.
Sri Lanka is home to diverse communities and rich ecosystems. As a volunteer, you’ll stay with a local host family, immersing yourself in the vibrant culture, delicious cuisine, and the warm hospitality of this beautiful island nation.

Resources are often limited, so any materials—pens, paper, teaching aids—would be incredibly helpful. A small treat like sweets is always a hit with the children!
