Join our volunteer Teaching Project in Sri Lanka and help disadvantaged students improve their English conversation. You’ll encourage children to practice speaking with you, so they can gain more confidence, and learn to express themselves in English. This is a wonderful way to get practical classroom experience for your resume, and give back at the same time.   

In Sri Lanka, only around 10% of the population is fluent in English. The language is widely used in business and government communications, as well as in a growing tourism industry. This means that English is an important skill that can help improve students’ future job prospects and other opportunities. You’ll assist a local teacher, and you can lead your own classes at an elementary or secondary school. You can also teach young monks at a temple school. 

You’ll live and work in coastal towns within two hours travel of Colombo, and stay with a local host family. We encourage you to explore all that this beautiful country has to offer!
